Propylene Tetramer

Propylene Tetramer (PTM, CAS 6842-15-5) is a colorless to pale-yellow liquid—a branched C11–C13 olefin mixture derived from propylene oligomerization. Boiling at 213–216 °C with a flash point of 72–77 °C, it is insoluble in water but freely soluble in organic solvents. Primarily used to produce branched dodecylbenzene (LAS surfactants), lubricant additives, T746 rust inhibitor, and tert-dodecyl mercaptan (TDM). Also applied in plasticizers and agrochemical carriers. Classified as a flammable liquid (UN 2850, Class 3.3, PG II); store away from oxidizers and ignition sources with proper static grounding.
