It is miscible with ethanol, diethyl ether, acetone, ethyl acetate, hydrocarbons, and most resins. It exhibits excellent solvency for nitrocellulose, acrylic resins, and vinyl resins, has a moderately fast evaporation rate, and is stable under light and heat, though it should be kept away from strong acids and strong bases.
