Potassium sulfate is a colorless crystalline solid with low hygroscopicity, does not easily clump, has good physical properties, and is easy to apply, making it an excellent water-soluble potassium fertilizer. Potassium sulfate is also chemically neutral and physiologically acidic. It is a chlorine-free, high-quality, and efficient potassium fertilizer, especially important in the cultivation of chlorine-sensitive crops such as tobacco, grapes, sugar beets, tea trees, potatoes, flax, and various fruit trees; it is also a major raw material for high-quality nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK) compound fertilizers.
Potassium sulfate-based compound fertilizers are produced using a low-temperature conversion of potassium chloride, chemical synthesis, and spray granulation process. They have good stability and contain not only the three essential nutrients (N, P, and K) but also trace elements such as S, Ca, Mg, Zn, Fe, and Cu. This fertilizer is suitable for various economic crops, especially those sensitive to chlorine. The main components of potassium sulfate-based compound fertilizers are MAP (monoammonium phosphate) and DAP (diammonium phosphate), and ammonium sulfate (mainly obtained by neutralizing excess sulfuric acid from low-temperature conversion with gaseous ammonia). Potassium sulfate, urea, and other substances are present, along with small amounts of impurities such as calcium sulfate, iron, aluminum, and magnesium salts of phosphate, and trace amounts of unreacted potassium chloride.
