Uses of water treatment agents

Water treatment agents are among the most widely used and consumed special products in the current water industry, pollution control, and water conservation and reuse engineering technologies. They include flocculants, scale inhibitors and dispersants, corrosion inhibitors, and biocides, primarily used to remove suspended solids and toxic substances from water, control the formation of scale and sludge, reduce corrosion of water-contact materials, deodorize, sterilize, decolorize, soften, and stabilize water quality and seawater.

Calcium hydroxide is a conventional alkaline agent for wastewater treatment. Compared to 30% sodium hydroxide alkaline solution, the price per ton of sodium hydroxide alkaline solution is comparable to that of per ton of calcium hydroxide powder. However, in terms of treatment effectiveness, the price of calcium hydroxide powder is less than 50% of that of sodium hydroxide alkaline solution, and its coagulation and decolorization effects are also superior. It is recognized worldwide as the preferred alkaline neutralizing agent.
