【Basic Properties】:Sky blue or green monoclinic crystals, or crystalline powder. Relative density 1.8987, melting point 64℃. Odorless, astringent. Easily effloresces upon exposure to air, turning into a white powder on the surface. Easily oxidizes in humid air, forming a brownish-yellow basic ferric sulfate on the surface. Soluble in water and glycerol, insoluble in alcohol. Has reducing properties; at 56.6℃, it transforms from a heptahydrate to a tetrahydrate, at 64.6℃ to a monohydrate, at 90℃ it loses six molecules of water of crystallization, and at 300℃ it loses all its water of crystallization to become anhydrous. When red-hot, it decomposes to release SO2 and SO3. Corrosive. Fluorescent in dry air. The anhydrous form is a white powder, turning blue-green upon reaction with water.

【Product Uses】: Ferrous sulfate has excellent flocculation effects as a flocculant and good decolorization capabilities. Besides flocculation, it also decolorizes, removes heavy metal ions, removes oil, removes phosphorus, and sterilizes. It is particularly effective for decolorizing and removing COD from dyeing and printing wastewater, and for ferrite co-precipitation in electroplating wastewater. 2. Ferrous sulfate can also be used as a food additive, pigment, raw material for the electronics industry, hydrogen sulfide deodorizer, soil conditioner, foliar fertilizer, and industrial catalyst.
